DraftMax - Downdraft Table

DraftMax table with integrated extraction

Work cleaner and safer with the DraftMax. This robust workbench combines a fixed workstation with effective extraction, directly extracting welding fumes and grinding dust through the work surface. By capturing smoke and dust at the source, you prevent harmful particles from spreading throughout the workshop and significantly improve air quality.

Thanks to its integrated design, you don't need additional extraction systems or complex installations, which ensures an efficient and organized workspace. The DraftMax is therefore a practical solution for daily use in workshops where welding, grinding or cutting is continuously performed, and where safety, productivity and clean air must go hand in hand.

Suitable for:

  • Welding (MIG/MAG, TIG, electrode)
  • Grinding and deburring
  • (Plasma) cutting

How the DraftMax downdraft table works:

A DraftMax downdraft table is a workbench with integrated extraction that captures smoke, dust, and fumes directly at the source. During welding, grinding, or cutting, contaminated air is drawn both downwards through the perforated work surface (downdraft) and backwards through an extraction panel in the rear wall (backdraft). Most of the air is extracted through the rear wall, so both falling and rising smoke are effectively removed from the breathing zone.

Underneath the work surface, sparks are first caught by a spark arrestor for added safety, after which the air passes through filters that remove fine particles from the air. The collected dust is gathered in bins that are easy to empty. Depending on the system, the cleaned air is then either blown back into the workspace or exhausted to the outside. This creates a compact and efficient solution that ensures cleaner air directly at the workplace.

Frequently Asked Questions about the DraftMax Downdraft Table

What is a downdraft table and how does it work?

A downdraft table is a workbench that extracts smoke, dust, and fumes directly at the source. Air is extracted both through the work surface (downdraft) and through the rear wall (backdraft) for maximum capture efficiency.

What applications is the DraftMax suitable for?

The DraftMax is ideal for:

  • Welding
  • Grinding
  • Cutting

Both the disposable filter and the self-cleaning filter versions are suitable for intensive use, such as daily welding with more than 1 spool of welding wire per week.

Does the DraftMax have a built-in filter system?

Yes. Both versions available in our shop have an integrated filter system:

  • Disposable: with disposable filter cartridges
  • Self Cleaning: with self-cleaning filter cartridges

The DraftMax family also includes other models, such as the DraftMax Eco. This model has no integrated filter and is not available in this shop. Contact us if you would like to know whether a different model better suits your workshop.

What are the advantages of backdraft and downdraft extraction?

The combination provides much higher capture:

  • ±80% through the rear wall
  • ±20% through the work surface

This removes smoke and dust more efficiently before they can spread through the workshop.

Is the working height adjustable?

Yes, the working height of the DraftMax is adjustable. This means you always work ergonomically and comfortably, regardless of the application.

How easy is the DraftMax to maintain?

The DraftMax is designed for easy maintenance:

  • Filters and dust drawers are accessible from the front
  • Long filter life due to large filter surface
  • Maintenance can be performed quickly and without downtime
Can I use the DraftMax without an extraction system?

Yes. Both DraftMax versions in our shop work as standalone units thanks to the integrated filter system. No additional extraction or filter system is needed.

The DraftMax Eco, which is not sold in this shop, has no filter of its own and must always be connected to an external extraction and filter system.
