Vehicle exhaust extractors

Protect your team from harmful exhaust fumes with reliable vehicle exhaust extraction from Plymovent.

Wherever vehicles run indoors, harmful exhaust fumes are released: carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, and carcinogenic diesel soot. In an enclosed workshop, garage, or fire station, these gases build up rapidly and threaten the health of everyone working there. With a quality exhaust extractor, you capture this contamination right at the source, before your colleagues breathe in any of it.

We have been innovating, designing, and manufacturing our exhaust extraction systems since 1975. Over that time, we have grown into the global market leader in source capture extraction. In this collection, you will find our complete range of vehicle exhaust extractors: from hose reels and exhaust nozzles to complete rail systems for the most demanding applications.

Why exhaust extraction is indispensable

Exhaust fumes are not just annoying; they are downright dangerous. Long-term exposure to diesel exhaust fumes is linked to respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and an increased risk of cancer. Moreover, carbon monoxide is odorless and can lead to serious health problems even at low concentrations.

As an employer, you are legally obliged to protect your employees from exposure to hazardous substances. A source extraction system is the most effective way to meet this duty of care. By capturing the gases directly at the exhaust, you prevent them from spreading throughout the room. The result: a healthier working environment, satisfied employees, and compliance with applicable occupational health and safety regulations.

For which workplaces?

Our exhaust extraction systems are used in various places where vehicles operate indoors:

  • Fire stations and emergency services, where vehicles must be able to deploy at any moment and engines are started indoors.
  • Car workshops and garages, where mechanics work on running vehicles daily.
  • Truck and bus companies, with heavy diesel engines and long vehicles.
  • Maintenance halls and testing centers, where engines need to run for extended periods.

Find the right exhaust extractor

FumeCaddie: easily maneuverable

The FumeCaddie is a mobile, plug-and-play exhaust gas extractor that connects directly to the exhaust of a vehicle or device. The powerful fan extracts gases at the source and discharges them outside. Due to its compact size and lightweight design, you can effortlessly move the unit around the workshop, to exactly where you need it. You connect it to any 100 mm hose and to any Plymovent nozzle, without an adapter. Ideal for garages and workshops looking for a versatile and affordable solution, regardless of the size of the space.

Internal Grabber: for every exhaust

The Internal Grabber is a new, universal nozzle that fits the shape and position of almost any exhaust of passenger cars and pick-ups. This patented nozzle makes other nozzles redundant. A self-aligning clamp grip ensures effortless and smooth attachment to the exhaust, while the swivel and extendable nozzle edge fits closely to the body for maximum capture. The soft edge protects the vehicle's paintwork. The 360-degree rotating collar is suitable for a single exhaust, and for dual exhausts, you simply connect a second Internal Grabber, completely without tools. It comes with a standard 100 mm hose connection and is compatible with any hose brand.

Hose Drop: efficient in limited space

The Hose Drop is the right choice if you need exhaust gas extraction but have limited space available. The extraction hose is connected directly to the ductwork or to a fan, for a simple but efficient system. The hose is light and easy to handle. A balancer supports you in operating it and keeps the hose neatly in place when it is locked. Finished extracting? Then you can easily store the hose on the wall mount. A neat, space-saving solution that is always within reach.

Frequently asked questions about exhaust extraction

Why is exhaust extraction mandatory?

As an employer, you must protect your employees from exposure to hazardous substances. Exhaust fumes contain carcinogenic and harmful components. A source extraction system is the most effective way to meet this obligation.

What is source extraction?

With source extraction, you capture contamination at the point where it originates, in this case, directly at the vehicle's exhaust. This prevents harmful gases from spreading throughout the area.

Which system suits my workshop?

That depends on your space, the type of vehicles, and how often you want to move the extraction unit. The FumeCaddie is mobile and can be used anywhere, the Internal Grabber fits almost any exhaust, and the Hose Drop is ideal for a fixed workstation with limited space. Our consultants will be happy to help you make your choice.

Are the systems suitable for both diesel and petrol?

Yes. Our exhaust extractors are designed to capture exhaust fumes from all common engine types, including heavy diesel engines.
